FAQ ENERGY

As a service.

What is Energy as a Service (EaaS), and how does it differ from traditional energy procurement?

Energy as a Service (EaaS) is a business model where a service provider delivers energy services to customers without requiring them to make upfront capital investments. Instead of purchasing energy assets like equipment or infrastructure, customers pay for the energy services on a subscription or pay-per-use basis. The EaaS provider invests, owns, and operates the energy systems, taking responsibility for their performance, efficiency, and upkeep.

How can EaaS benefit my business in terms of cost savings and energy efficiency?

Adopting clean energy as a service solutions can provide tangible advantages, such as reduced operational costs, improved energy efficiency, reduced emissions & risk mitigation. It also means that business owners can focus on their core offerings rather than trying to become experts in the decarbonisation space.

What types of services and solutions are typically included in an EaaS agreement?

Renewable energy integration such as solar, wind and other renewable sources will provide the biggest impact. Energy as a Service can also encompass any retrofits or upgrades needed as well as maintenance & data analytics post installato. The beauty of Energy as a Service is that it can encompass a wide range of services tailored to the customers needs so every proposal will tailor to your individual needs.

How flexible are EaaS contracts, and what are the typical terms and commitments involved?

UrbanVolt generally offers fixed term contracts between 10 and 30 years, depending on the preference and need of the customer. Most prefer to lock in a fixed rate for as long as possible whereas other facilities who have leases or may move can look at shorter lengths.

How is the performance and reliability of energy ensured in an EaaS model?

Most UrbanVolt offers are consumption based which means that we have a shared goal : for your system to produce as much power as possible. Your production is closely monitored by an in house Customer Success & Operations team and you will get alerts if there are any issues.
