Dublin City University (DCU) were extending their Innovation Campus into a building formerly owned by Enterprise Ireland.
The building had been unoccupied for several years and DCU wanted to upgrade the entire site with more modern equipment and technology. The LED lighting upgrade was part of that project. As a state body, they also had certain regulatory standards which had to be met.
Light levels were important to DCU as the site was to become a shared office space for their clients and upgrading the site to LED was one of the ways they wanted to improve the working environment.
Through UrbanVolt’s Light as a Service®, the upfront capital for the lighting project was provided and the LED installation was project-managed from start to finish.
The old lighting was removed as part of the building retrofit and UrbanVolt installed modern LED lights throughout.
Uniform light levels were achieved across the site to make the location fit for purpose. The LED lighting will also be maintained for DCU as part of the UrbanVolt Light as a Service® no-haggle maintenance guarantee.
The result has been improved light levels, lower energy consumption, and lower energy bills.
